Affidavit

   We,members of Humanist Association feel and sincerely belive that the greatest religion of Man is 'Humanism' which is
most suitable for the protection and achievement of human rights and for the fullest expression of human talents.

   We therefore declare 'Humanism' as our religion. This is in accordance to the declaration of the General Assembly of UNO,
November, 1981.

   The religion of 'Humanism' is a way of life separate and different from any other like Hinduism, Islam, Christianity,
Judaism etc. 'Humanism' has its separate organization and separate philosophy aiming at the total well being of mankind where coercion and repression hardly exist.

धर्म के नाम पर पशुबलि  संतोष शर्मा      आधुनिक सभ्यता के विकास की 21वीं       सदी में जब विज्ञान अपने चरमोत्कर्ष      पर है तब भी धर्म, आस्था ईश्वर के नाम पर कु-प्रथाएं आज भी चल रही हैं। विज्ञान एबं शिक्षा के प्रसार से जंहा अनेक कु-प्रथाएं हमारे मन-मस्तिष्क से मिटी हैं , वहीं कुछ प्रथाओं का अस्तित्व आज भी बना हुआ है। ऐसी ही एक भयंकर कु-प्रथा है पशुबलि। कालीपूजा, दुर्गापूजा, क़ुरबानी आदि उत्सवों में पश्चिम बंगाल आज भी पशुबलि जैसी कु-प्रथा से कलंकित हो रहा है।                                        धर्म, आस्था या ईश्वर, पूजा के नाम पर इस प्रथा में अनगिनत निरीह पशुओं की नृशंस रूप से बलि दी जाती है। जबकि धर्म के नाम पर किसी भी पशु की बलि चढ़ाना कानूनन जुर्म है। लेकिन धार्मिक आस्था को ठेंस नहीं पहुँचाने की आड़ में राज्य सरकर इस पशुबलि-प्रथा को बंद करने की ओर से उदासीन है।              ...
